Friday, before a race weekend, the track owner typically rents out the track for a day of practice and tuning. It's a time to try new lines around the track, get help tyring to figure out what it means to "set-up the suspension" on your bike, and have the opportunity to circulate in solitude enjoying each corner at your own pace. Same turn at Grattan in a ragged crowd. If you watch professional racers, you'll see them running single file like a train through a turn like this. It's the safest way around, and since it's rare to pass more than one rider in a corner, running three-wide is needless, and an invitation to trouble. Eventually we learn this lesson... one way or another. | |||||||||
